Student Leadership Opportunities

Big and Little Buddies Program

Students in grades 3 - 5 are paired with students in grades TK - 2. Students enjoy peer mentoring whether reading together or doing fun activities together at certain points in the year. The students look forward to this mentoring opportunity as big buddies while our little buddies enjoy seeing their big buddies around campus.

Student Council

Students in grades 4 - 5 have an opportunity to join student council. Students write a speech and need to meet specific standards of Red Oak citizenship to be able to run for a student council position. Student Council members make announcements in classrooms, participate in community service projects, and run bake sales to donate the profits to an organization in need. In addition, student council members run our spirit assemblies and decide on theme spirit days held throughout the year.
